Veteran pacers put on a show in Jim Dailey Memorial medley
At ages that most horses are past their prime, a bunch of war horses gathered on Monday (March 20) at Miami Valley Raceway to contest the $30,000 championship leg of the Jim Dailey Memorial Medley. When the dust cleared after the 1-1/4 mile final in 2:23, Tulhurstsantanna A (age 10) was the winner. He was followed across the finish line by Grantmeawish (age 8), Nuclear Dragon (11), Big Booty Rudy (7), Velocity Poprocks (8), Beyond Delight (9) and American Dreamer (9). Oddly, the only two 5-year-olds—widely considered a prime age for horses to peak in form–in the field finished last.
