Steve Carter trainee Papi Grad, in the face of a far-turn blitz, remained resolute and rebuffed first-over challenger Looksgoodinloulou to coast to a 1:51 victory in the second of four divisions of the $387,500 Bluegrass 2-Year-Old Filly Pace on Thursday afternoon (Sept. 26) at the Red Mile.
Round Barn fundraiser set for Sept. 29
The annual Stable of Memories “Round Barn” fundraiser will be held Sunday, Sept. 29, from 6-9 p.m. at the historic Lexington, Ky., landmark adjacent to the Red Mile. The event is being held the night before the opening of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale at Fasig-Tipton.
Favorites falter in Kentucky Golden Rod finals
On Tuesday (Sept. 17), the Red Mile hosted eight $50,000 divisions of the Kentucky Golden Rod Series. Only two of the public’s top choices — Blue Cartier in the 2-year-old male trot final and Faze in the 2-year-old filly pace final — prevailed.

It’s My Show returns in style, Hers Hungry upsets at Red Mile
On Tuesday (Sept. 10), at the Red Mile, Canadian Pacing Derby and 2023 Little Brown Jug winner It’s My Show used a blistering final quarter mile to defeat El Rey in 1:49.2 in the $35,000 third leg of the Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) series for 4-year-old male pacers. Hers Hungry hit the line a neck in front of favored Strong Poison to capture the $35,000 division for 4-year-old pacing mares.
