Three win performance for Ingraham at Bangor Raceway

Bangor, ME — Wednesday (Oct. 12) proved to be a pretty delightful day for driver David Ingraham as the Maine based teamster turned five opportunities into three trips down Victory Lane during the opening day session of Bangor Raceway’s three-week October meeting.

Primed for action from the very first salvo, Ingraham wasted precious time in grabbing the baton at the podium, orchestrating a half-length, in-hand, symphonic rendition behind Emery Pelletier’s L Dees Yoyo Ma (Lucky Chucky) timed in 2:01.

David’s dominance continued in the second movement with a harmonic score from his own roster as the Kelly Case owned and trained Skyful Of Lighters (Bettor’s Delight) took a seasonal mark of 1:57.3. Leading the band in a upbeat chorus of ‘Catch Me If You Can’ Ingraham waltzed around the oval with the family charge, securing the lightning hot pacer’s fifth consecutive top-two placing in the process.

Ingraham’s curtain call came as twilight began to enhance the limelight during the final act of the 10-race program. Ever the master at securing the best seats in the house, Ingraham embarked on an extended overland grind with the David Crochere trained CBF Bantam (Baron Biltmore) en route to a 1:58.4 crescendo in the finale.

Live harness racing resumes on Friday (Oct. 14) with a 12:15 p.m. post time, leading up to a spectacular evening performance on Saturday when Bangor Raceway will play host to the sophomore finals of the Maine Sire Stakes program. More than $350,000 in purse money will be contested during the course of the 10-race stakes finals program which will be co-anchored by the inaugural edition of the $20,000 Fred Nichols Memorial Invitational. Post time for Saturday’s championship card is set for 6 p.m. (EDT).
