Woodside Charm climbs into Top 10 in Poll
October 23, 2018,by Ken Weingartner, USTA Media Relations Manager
Hightstown, NJ — Two-year-old female trotter Woodside Charm moved into the Top 10 in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll while the top-three spots were unchanged ahead of Saturday’s Breeders Crown finals at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono.
Woodside Charm is unbeaten in six races after her 12-1/2 length romp in her Breeders Crown elimination last week.
Atlanta remained No. 1 following her Breeders Crown elimination victory, followed by idle No. 2 McWicked and No. 3 Shartin N, also a Breeders Crown elim winner.
Courtly Choice, who finished sixth in his Breeders Crown elimination and is finished for the season, dropped from fourth to sixth. Kissin In The Sand, who was idle, and Breeders Crown elim winner Six Pack moved up.
Manchego, Marion Marauder, and Crystal Fashion all lost Breeders Crown eliminations but advanced to their respective finals and remained in the Top 10.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The U.S. Harness Writers Association votes in December on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
