Dover, DE — Two $14,500 paces for brand new four and five-year-olds head up the New Year’s card on Saturday, while a $14,000 and a $12,000 pace highlight Sunday racing at Dover Downs. First post each day is 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, Mike Dolan’s Gustavo N (Ross Wolfenden) and Cash In Your Chips (Mike Cole), owned by Wilson Clark and Tom Beaver, each a winner last time out, and Art Brewer’s Point Well Taken (Brad Hanners), winner of his last two races, head the first of two $14,500 paces. Forrest Bartlett’s Marlars Trump Card (George Dennis) and Nick and Corey Callahan’s JP Hickory (Jim Morand) are tough adversaries in the nine horse lineup. In the $14,500 co-feature, Amy Warrington’s Isn’t She Fancy (Steve Warrington), a winner of her last three races, takes on Little Rock Spur (Brad Hanners), owned by Jeff Franklin and Todd Wise, Griffen Conley’s Anton Hanover (Ross Wolfenden), and Eric Schultz’s Twelve Seventeen (Jack Parker, Jr.) among the nine starters. Two $10,200 Delaware paces are on the Saturday undercard. A strong Sunday program is led by a $14,000 pace for young horses. Paul and Lorie Davis’ Oliver Twist (Steve Warrington), an impressive winner last time, meets Brooks Stables’ Allamerican Knight (Kevin Sizer), Parker Callahan’s fast finishing Beware Beret (Ross Wolfenden) and Clean Sweep (Daryl Bier). In a $12,000 Delaware pace, John Hynansky and Brooks Stables’ Getaway Hall (Kevin Sizer), WJ McDougal Racing’s Youmustbekidding and Greg Barone’s El Gees Mr Q (Brad Hanners), along with Pearl Kirby’s Pegasus Osborne (Vic Kirby), Todd Wise and Jeff Franklin’s Golfman (Tim Curtin) and John Frazer’s Atenothnbutdscootr (Leah Vandervort) will comepte in the wide open contest. Weekend racing at Dover begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday post time is 4:30 p.m. There is no racing on Fridays. There is no charge for admission or parking.
