by Adam Packard, for the Meadows
Meadow Lands, PA — Jomary, owned by Raymond Sines and Jenny Belcher, won his fourth race in a row in the $10,000 Preferred Pace on Tuesday night at The Meadows.
The longest shot on the board usually rides the pylons and saves ground. Brian Zendt did exactly this with Jomary and found room in the Lightning Lane to score the victory in 1:53.2.
The early leader was Execujet and Mike Simons, who was in search of his third victory in a row. He received pressure from Arizona Liar and faded after a :27.3 third quarter. Western Millennium was sitting a perfect trip behind Execujet and seemed destined for the Lightning Lane. As they hit the top of the stretch, Dave Palone ducked Western Millennium into the Lightning Lane and took the lead with less than an eighth of a mile left. Jomary found just enough clearance to scoot by Western Millennium to win by a head in the final strides. Western Millennium finished second and Execujet settled for third.
Jomary has nine wins, three seconds, and eight third place finishes in 38 starts in 2004.
Palone increases margin
Dave Palone had a big night on Tuesday, winning seven races on the 15 race program.

Dave Palone
Palone started off slow, winning only one race out of the first seven, but caught fire later in the card.
Palone started his hot streak in the eighth race, winning with Lotta Fire Power in 1:56.3. He then won the ninth race with Jenny Belcher’s No Spin Zone in a lifetime best time of 1:55.3.
After finishing fourth in the 10th race, Palone won the next four races on the card: he won two $3,000 claimers, a $10,000 claimer, and a conditioned pacing event.
Palone is now 21 wins in front of Catello Manzi for the most wins for drivers in North America. Brett Miller is in third place, 27 wins behind Palone.
The Meadows only has one racing day left in 2004 (Thursday, December 30), but with the margin being 21, Palone seems to have a big enough lead for top honors.
