Dover, DE — For the second straight outing, Jett Away scored a decisive victory in the $22,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace at Dover Downs on Tuesday, December 28. Brad Hanners had a four-bagger, while Steve Warrington and Ross Wolfenden scored three wins each on the card. Jett Away draws off in the stretch to win the Mares Open Handicap Pace on Tuesday. Bret Brittingham took Jett Away, a four-year-old daughter of Dream Away, to the outside on the backstretch to vie for the lead with Rondel Franco N (Hal Belote). They raced head-to-head until straightening out in the lane when Jett Away pulled off for a 1:54.3 triumph in the feature race of the day. Time Flies N (Mike Cole) closed well to finish second in front of Cams Little Imp N (Brad Hanners). Rondel Franco N (Hal Belote), cut out the mile from post eight, but had to settle for a fourth place finish.
Brittingham also trains Jett Away for owners George Brem, Mike Nichols and Bob McGee. Her 10th win of the year vaults Jett Away to $109,705 in earnings this season and $147,313 lifetime.

Brad Hanners won four races on the card, including the $15,500 sub-feature with Tawny.
Meet leading driver Brad Hanners teamed with Charles Miller’s Tawny, making her first local start a winning one, fashioning a 1:53.2 score in the $15,500 distaff sub-featured pace. Scootbyal (Vic Kirby) was runner-up. Sandtana Score N (Jim King) took third.
Hanners drove four winners on the card, upping his total this meet to 89 wins in only 40 race programs.
Ross Wolfenden notched his third win on the card steering Rodney Long’s Mapua Magic N between horses for a 1:54.4 win in an $11,000 Filly and Mare Pace. Miss Fish Lady (Eddie Davis) was a close second with Scootinannirevonah (Brad Hanners) third.
Mountain Spring N, owned by Geraldine McClure and trainer-driver Steve Warrington, sat outside for almost a half-mile before pulling off to a 1:57.4 win in one of two $10,500 co-featured trots. Bullville Sue (Daryl Bier) finished second. Keystone Stratus (Brad Hanners) was third. It was one of three winners driven by Warrington.
In the other $10,500 trot, Hanners logged his fourth win, driving Rattlesnake Jake, owned by Fred and Anita Fialkow and Harness The Power, to an identical clocked 1:57.4 victory. Deliberate Foul (Leah Vandervort) streaked from far back to finish second, edging early leader So Striking (Bob Reeser), third.
