Nuclear, Aperfect Annie Prevail in Scintillating Stretch Drives at The Red Mile
On Monday (Aug. 12) each $80,000 second leg of Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship Series action at The Red Mile went right down to the wire and saw last week’s victors settling for second place. Nuclear defeated Bettor Is Nice by a nose in the division for 3-year-old male pacers while Aperfect Annie overhauled the unbeaten Yo Tillie by a neck in the division for freshman filly trotters.
Sweet Angel Boy Sharp in Harrington Return
Andrew Glassmeyer’s Sweet Angel Boy ($3.60, Tony Morgan) overcame post eight in scoring a decisive 1:52.2 win in the $22,500 Free-For-All Pace Monday (Aug. 12) at Harrington Raceway.
Sainthood gets the decision in Pocono Monday feature
On a day not favorable to front-end horses at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, the International Moni sophomore gelding Sainthood came first-over, ducked to the inside, then moved up in the famous Pocono Pike to catch pacesetting favorite Royal Emeralds in 1:54.4 in the $15,000 featured trot on Monday afternoon (Aug. 12).
Bettor Is Nice, Super Chapter relish the red clay at The Red Mile
After all eyes were on The Meadowlands, and deservedly so, on Saturday (Aug. 3) The Red Mile returned to the scene with 31 races on Sunday (Aug. 4) and Monday (Aug. 5) highlighted by the triumphant return of Kentucky champion Bettor Is Nice and the Bluegrass debut of Super Chapter as each horse reigned supreme in the first legs of their respective $80,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship Series (KYSSCS) legs.

The two-day harness racing meet at the Western Michigan Fair, in Ludington, MI, has been abandoned due to unsuitable track conditions and expected inclement weather.
Torrid Saint A goes lifetime best at Plainridge
Two weeks ago on Sunday (July 21), Torrid Saint A finished third to Big Skewy N in the $75,000 Bert Beckwith Memorial at Plainridge Park in 1:49.1. Torrid Saint A made his next start on Monday (Aug. 5) and went the mile of his life, winning the $25,000 Open pacing feature at Plainridge Park.
