The Saturday (Aug. 17) card at Eldorado Scioto Downs started off hot with a 1:49 opening race, but even a power surge delay followed by a rain delay couldn’t dampen the racing events to come later in the card. Seafire, a 4-year-old Ohio-sired horse, won the $100,000 #SendItIn Invitational Pace in 1:48, and Twin B Joe Fresh took the $100,000 Cleopatra Invitational, for mares, setting a new track record of 1:48.2 for older distaffers.

It’s a pretty remarkable feat considering he’s only raced over that track 11 times during his career. And with one of those early efforts at Skowhegan resulting in a shortly-held divisional track record of 1:53.1, it seems like the now 13-year-old has saved some of his best efforts for this particular stop on the Maine fair circuit.
