Trotters were in the spotlight again on Sunday night (June 8) at Running Aces and the top events saw repeat winners deliver big performances for the second straight week.

A total of $185,066 was on the line for Pennsylvania-sired 3-year-old trotting males Sunday night (June 8) at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, as the second preliminary leg saw two divisions of Pennsylvania Sire Stakes and four cuts of Pennsylvania Stallion Series action contested over a track that was rated “sloppy” for all the stakes races.

On Sunday afternoon (June 8), 7-year-old Swedish trotter Kentucky River finally succeeded in winning the Group 1 race he has been so eager to win multiple times.

Recently the USTA formed an alliance with the Standardbred Racing Investigative Fund (“SRIF”) to solve some of harness racing’s problems, including those that come from hidden ownership, which USTA’s rules prohibit. Some of SRIF’s results have been made public, and other investigations are under way.

When the horses line up behind the gate for Saturday (June 7) night’s $200,000 Grade 2 Battle of Lake Erie at MGM Northfield Park, the connections of Chase H Hanover are hopeful their talented gelding is ready to step up and do something very special.

Woodbine Entertainment has announced that post time for tonight’s June 6 card of live racing at Woodbine Mohawk Park has been delayed to 7:35 p.m. (EDT).

The delayed start time is due to poor air quality in the region and across Ontario.

Five divisions featuring 41 3-year-old colt pacers will take to the MGM Northfield Park track on Sunday (June 8) followed by five divisions featuring 37 3-year-old colt trotters on Monday (June 9) in search of a win in the second leg of the Buckeye Stallions Series. A total of $200,000 is on the line, with each division carrying a purse of $20,000.
