Rising star at Freehold, Mark Herschberger, visited the winner’s circle four times on the 12-race Saturday (May 18) program.

On Sunday (May 19), the 2024 harness racing season opener at Running Aces will feature a six-pack of talented trotters in the $15,500 Open handicap event which offers a possible continuation of the recent rivalry between Pridecrest and Jack Rabbit Slims. 

Driver Kevin Switzer Jr. enjoyed his second grand slam of the season at Cumberland Raceway on Friday (May 17), winning a third of all the races on the action-packed 12-race card.

Benjamin Hanover used an ideal pocket trip and a perfect steer from Hall of Fame driver Dave Miller to take down 1-2 favorite Lexus Kody Friday (May 17) night at The Meadowlands in the $27,500 featured winners-over trot.

The Dan Patch 2024 Older Female Pacer of the Year, Grace Hill, won her first start of 2024 at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Friday (May 17). Leaving from their assigned post eight, Tony Hall sent Grace Hill straight to the top and won the $27,000 fillies and mares open pace by three-quarters of a length in 1:50.3.

Sophomore trotters took center stage on Friday (May 17), at Harrah’s Hoosier Park with a pair of $25,000 series finals highlighting the 14-race card. Agent Of Fortune completed a clean sweep of the Msnaughtybynature series, while Helpem Dance shook loose late claim the Expresson each for non-winners of two trotters.

Off a gutsy 1:50.2 win in second-round preliminary action last week, 2023 North America Cup and Little Brown Jug winner It’s My Show seeks the first major conquest of this season in Monday’s $100,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes final for 4-year-old male pacers at Oak Grove.

The tri-features on Sunday (May 12) evening at Pocono Downs at Mohegan, Pennsylvania, were $15,000 paces for high-priced claiming horses. Despite the hefty investment, two of the three winners were claimed—but the one who wasn’t, took the fastest division.
