The only stop on the Pennsylvania fair harness racing circuit lasting more than two days, the Clearfield County Fair in the north-central part of the state led its four-day bill of fare with 2-year-olds, trotters on Sunday (July 30) and pacers on Monday (July 31) and so far the evidence is that this year’s motto is “Save The Best For First!”

Racing at Champaign County (OH) Fair begins Aug. 6
The Champaign County Fair in Urbana, Ohio, is gearing up for another four days of exciting harness racing in 2017. The first day of racing will be held on Sunday (Aug. 6) with a first race post time of 1:30 p.m.
Box remains open for Wood County (OH) Fair
Due to problems with telephone and internet service, the box at the Wood County (OH) Fair will remain open until 11 a.m. on Friday (July 28).
Ohio State Fair racing held at Scioto Downs
Thursday night (July 27) at Scioto Downs brought in three divisions of Ohio State Fair Stakes for 2-year-old filly pacers and trotters.
Racing returns to Hamilton County (IA) Fair
For the first time since 1951, Standardbreds will be competing at the Hamilton County Fair. Racing begins at 5 p.m. this Thursday afternoon (July 27).
Painesville hosts two days of Ohio Fair racing
Painesville, Ohio hosted harness racing a little earlier in the year than usual. They moved the dates of their fair to accommodate 4H participants who, over the years, have ended up with an earlier back to school date. Two days of harness racing were held on Tuesday (July 25) and Wednesday (July 26) at noon. No pari-mutuel wagering was available this year.
Fair racing wraps up in Tiffin
Tuesday afternoon (July 25) at the Seneca County Fair in Tiffin brought more rousing stretch drives and tight finishes as the nine-race card unveiled some promising young Ohio pacers and trotters.
