Iowa season opener held at What Cheer
With blue skies and temperatures in the mid 60s, an excited crowd showed up at What Cheer, Iowa, to watch the season opener of harness racing. With two divisions each of freshman trotters and pacers, the sophomores also returned for their second season of racing and a Free-For-All Pace topped the card for the fans.
Kentucky Proud Series opens
Racing kicked off in Kentucky this weekend, with the opening of the Kentucky Proud Series: harness racing at Kentucky County Fairs. A total of 17 races were contested at the Washington County Fair (held at the Lebanon Fairgrounds) for Kentucky eligible 2- and 3-year-old trotters and pacers.
