Ten $20,000 divisions of the Buckeye Stallion Series for 3-year-old colts were raced on Thursday (July 4) at Eldorado Scioto Downs. There seemed to be no track bias, as winners of the five divisions of the pacers came from behind, led gate-to-wire, came first over or got the two-hole trip to come up the pacing lane.

Stable Genius just missed as the favorite in last week’s top trot at Harrah’s Philadelphia, but this week, driver Todd McCarthy raced the Muscle Mass gelding on the lead, and the pair combined for a three-quarter-length decision over Chake in Thursday’s (July 4) $15,000 winners-over handicap trot at the southeast Pennsylvania oval.

Also scoring in the $180,221 event, known as the Sand Tart, were Sweet Ballad and Rose, both driven by Ronnie Wrenn Jr. and trained by Ron Burke.
