Pompano Beach, FL — Never faced with a real challenge the entire one mile race, Glors Boys ($10.40) and driver Bruce Ranger led from start to finish in capturing the seventh race $9,000 Open Handicap Pace on Saturday at Pompano Park in 1:52.2. One of four winners on the night for Ranger, Glors Boys cut fractions of :27.3, :56.1 and 1:25.1 before nailing down the victory in the stretch with a two and one-half length triumph over the pocket-sitting Copeland Comet (David Ingraham) and Hearty Fellow (Marc Aubin). A five-year-old gelding by Artsplace, Glors Boys is trained by Jake Huff and is owned by Rosalia Huff, Ron Huff, Philip Marrone and the Stable 45 of Deerfield Beach. Storm Master, a 12-1 longshot, upset the field in the third race pace at Pompano Park Saturday, paying $27.80 to win. Trained and driven to victory by Joe Pavia, Jr., Storm Master won by three-quarters of a length in 1:53.1 for the BJR, Mike Rich and Pavia Stables.
