Marquis Lafayette got off to a slow start but finished with a bang to win the $25,000 Winners-Over trotting feature at Plainridge Park on Monday afternoon (May 29).

George and Tina Dennis’ Wager On Me ($6.40, Ross Wolfenden) was a 1:53.1 winner in the $20,000 Open Pace Monday (May 29) at Harrington Raceway.

Vernon Downs hosted two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for 3-year-old trotting fillies as well as 3-year-old trotting colts & geldings on Memorial Day (May 29).

Holy Being worked his way to the lead past a :28.1 opening quarter, got soft middle splits of :58 and 1:27.1, and then was able to finish strongly to win the $15,000 featured trot at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania Monday (May 29) afternoon in 1:55.1. Anthony Napolitano, top driver of the day at Pocono with three victories, guided the Archangel gelding to a 1-1/4 length victory over Quarantina for trainer Jake Huff and Beauty Bridle Racing Stable Inc.

Ohio Sires Stakes second leg action for sophomore filly pacers and trotters will highlight Memorial Day racing at Eldorado Scioto Downs. Two $55,000 divisions for filly pacers and one division of filly trotters going for $100,000 will be contested.

The co-featured $20,000 Open Trot has been a race not to miss as of late at MGM Northfield Park, and on Sunday (May 28) that was no different as Flemsteen made things look easy, closing from off the pace to win by a nose.

Three-year-old filly trotters were back in Buckeye Stallion Series action Sunday night (May 28) at MGM Northfield Park. Four of the five first leg winners were back, but only Crysta’s Legacy was able to find the winner’s circle.
