P L Spencer set the fastest mile by a male sophomore trotter in Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) history, winning the lone C$140,000 Leg 2 Gold event on Monday (June 23) at Woodbine Mohawk Park in 1:51.3. The previous record of 1:52 was set by Mister Herbie while winning his OSS Super Final in 2011 at Woodbine Racetrack.

Round two of Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund action for 3-year-old pacing colts and geldings highlighted the 12-race card Monday at Harrington Raceway.

The dynamite team of trainer Ron Burke and driver Yannick Gingras landed a natural hat trick early in the 15-race session of Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) action at Oak Grove on Monday (June 23) while Gingras added an additional visit to the winner’s circle later in the day to lead all drivers with four wins on the card.

Paul Minore and Tony Ciuffetelli both found the winner’s circle – one at short odds, one at high odds – in the pair of $10,000 divisions for the American Harness Drivers Club (AHDC) Trot at Mohegan Pennsylvania’s Pocono Downs on Sunday night (June 22).
