Columbus, OH – Magic Punk rallied down the stretch to win the Grade 3 $157,125 Dexter Cup at the Meadowlands on Saturday night (May 2).

Trained and driven by Ake Svanstedt, Magic Punk was fourth and trailed leader Southwind Alamo (Todd McCarthy) by 3-1/2 lengths at the top stretch before rallying with a :26.4 final quarter to win by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:53.1.
Southwind Alamo held on to second and Who’s Eyes Blues (Yannick Gingras) finished third. Svanstedt-trained Nordic Dancer S (Scott Zeron) finished fourth.
Owned by Magic Punk Inc., the winner paid $4.80.
The Dexter Cup is the first Grand Circuit race for 3-year-old trotters on the Road to the Grade 1 $1 million Hambletonian Stakes scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8 at the Meadowlands.
Svanstedt is a three-time winner of the Hambletonian including in 2025 with Nordic Catcher S.
